Fees & Insurance

I believe understanding the cost of psychological services should be straightforward and transparent. My goal is to help you feel informed and confident as you navigate both the cost of services and the insurance reimbursement process.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois: Bloom Child Psychology is currently in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. For covered services, you will be responsible for the portion of the fee determined by your insurance plan, such as a deductible, copayment, or coinsurance. Any applicable patient responsibility will be collected at the time of service.

All Other Insurance Plans: For all other insurance carriers, Bloom Child Psychology operates as an out-of-network, self-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service. I will provide you with the documentation needed to submit a claim to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

If requested, I can also submit claims on your behalf. If your insurance plan provides out-of-network benefits, eligible reimbursement will be issued directly to you by your insurance carrier.

Fees for therapy, psychological evaluations, consultations, and other services are outlined below. If you have questions about fees, payment, or your insurance benefits, I am happy to help you better understand the process and identify what information to request from your insurance provider.

Cost per Service

Cost per service is subject to change.

Phone Consultation
Free

If you are wondering if Bloom might be the right fit for you and your family, we invite you to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. During this time, we will discuss your concerns, what you services you are interested in, and whether Bloom can help you reach your goals.

Intake Session
$250

This intake session, or the initial diagnostic assessment, is the first appointment for all new clients. It is also the first appointment for an evaluation, even if it is for an existing client. This is an hour-long appointment that is typically attended by the parent(s) or caregiver(s) of the patient, although adolescent and teen clients are also encouraged to join. During this session, the provider will ask questions about the client, including their strengths and areas of needed support. The provider will review practice policies. Further, the provider, patient, and parents/caregivers will collaborate to establish treatment goals and outline a plan for services moving forward.

Psychotherapy
$235

For those seeking therapy, these sessions begin after the initial intake session. Psychotherapy sessions are 55 minutes long, and they are tailored to each child's needs. Psychotherapy sessions are billed the same regardless of the type of therapy provided. If a session is shorter than 55 minutes, it is billed at a 30-minute or 45-minute rate, whichever is appropriate. (This rate decrease does not apply to late arrivals.)

Parent Coaching
$235

Following the initial intake session, parent coaching sessions are 55 minutes long. These sessions are billed the same regardless of the age of the child or the presenting concerns. Parent coaching sessions are billed under the child. As such, parent coaching sessions cannot be held on the same day of service as psychotherapy sessions with the child themselves.

School Consultation
$200/hour

School consultation is a self-pay service that is not covered by insurance. It is billed at the same rate as other services.

Evaluations
Determined after Intake

The cost of an evaluation depends on its scope. Unlike other services, evaluations are billed in units. For more comprehensive evaluations with differential diagnoses (e.g., Autism, ADHD, and anxiety), more units will be billed. In general, evaluations are billed for the first hour of testing ($250) and between 5 and 7 additional units ($200 each). These include both direct assessment hours, as well as the hours spent analyzing data and determining diagnoses. Additional fees for evaluations include the intake session (see above) and a feedback session to review the results. The feedback session is billed as a typical psychotherapy session.
